We headed west via Glen Croe to get to the west coast. The day starts with the long climb up to Rest and be Thankful. Nowhere near the worst hill on the trip, it is very long but never very steep, its steady gradient means you can just keep a nice steady pace to the top. This is followed by six miles of descent to Loch Fyne and a flat road to Inveraray which has shops and cafés. You repeat the process in Glen Aray on the very quiet A819 (almost deserted again), a long steady climb and a long descent to the A85. A bit busier through the Pass of Brander to Connel but nothing too bad.

Camping at Seaview Campsite on Tralee Bay which was surprisingly one of the most expensive on the trip, adults only BTW. Good clean facilities although an initial look might deceive you into thinking otherwise and obviously has sea views and a path to the beach. Tralee Bay next door has a fish and chip shop. Benderloch has a good café and a shop. The Hawthorn Cottage restaurant opposite the entrance to Seaview is also very good.
