Work: A fairly uneventful week at work. A trip to HQ on Friday for a Toad for Oracle tips and tricks day, which didn’t teach me a great deal I didn’t already know. As usual with these software demonstrations the most useful features are shown at the end of the day for a version of the software you don’t have a licence for. I will endeavour to get project funds to buy me the Xpert edition.

We learnt that the top two from each Petanque group progresses to the KO stage, I hope we get drawn against a team that finished 2nd in their group as we whupped all the other teams in our group. We are the defending champions after all. Our team is called ‘Up a Gum Tree’ to celebrate the fact that we managed to sink 4 bottles of this wine between the two of us at our recent IT getaway.

Rest: A very disappointing World Cup from England. They just didn’t show how good they really are. And now we have lost all South American flare, we have the dullest semi-final line up I can remember.

It was that day that we all face, the first day at school for my daughter today. She started her afternoon visits before starting full time in September. Did it faze her? Of course not! In she trotted as if she had been there for years.

But it's with a tiny churning in your stomach as you see them disappear into the classroom for the first time. They're growing up and they're moving out of the toddler stage and there's nothing you can do about it...

Made some changes to the gallery. Thumbnails are now generated on the fly using phpThumb a very useful little script. The clarity of the thumbnails and medium images is greatly increased as the browser no longer does the resizing. Also made the category navigation clearer and indicated when the latest images were posted.

The ‘Beer’ post is an example post using the mobile blog. Using my mobile phone I can take a picture and update my blog remotely! Cool!

Well I was really looking forward to this but now it seems it might not have online play after all which removes virtually all the point of owning the game. Sigh.

It was very exciting with a great atmosphere. They could have done it with only an injury time winner when Oxford were pushing forward giving Orient the win. But to be honest Oxford were basically clueless in front of goal, it’s no wonder they have the worst goals for record in the entire league. So our 44 year stay in the football league has come to an end, non-league football awaits us. We have to bounce back next season or it may just be too late.

This is it, the most important ticket in the history of OUFC. I queued up at 9am yesterday to get this and now all 12,500 tickets are sold out. Unbelievably on the last day of the season any one of seven teams in league two could lose their league status. Any win would mean Oxford stay up, anything else and they are doomed. Leyton Orient want to win to secure automatic promotion, Oxford want to win to keep league football. Who is the hungriest? Who wants it more? Are we doomed through fate with Accrington Stanley getting promoted into the league, the team we replaced in 1962.

Peer pressure got to me in the end and I purchased. The online aspects of this game are love it or hate it. I’ve played one ranked match and got sniped by some sniping idiot about 8 times, I gave him -ve feedback.
