Watec 120N camera on 8" f/4 Newtonian telescope. Baader IR/UV filter. Stack of 50x10.24s images with 50x10.24s dark frames subtracted. Captured in VirtualDub, stacked in DeepSkyStacker and processed in PhotoShop Elements 5. FITS files extracted from AVI file using AstroVideo. Watec focussed using K3CCDTools.
Also visible in this image are NGC 5195 (smaller galaxy interacting with M51) and IC 4278 (small faint smudge in top left quadrant below the trio of stars).
